It seems to me more a case of foolish pride, and a sense of "better then you" that so many boomers have. That is ok however. So many boomers have driven their kids away with selfishness and lack of support (and often physical abuse) that no one will be around to pay for a boomer to be in a good home anyhow. state home for you gramps.
